Before the Tournament
Q: Who is eligible to play in a Moon Golf Junior Tour  1-day tournament OR The City Junior Championship?
A: Any boy or girl between the ages 8-18 that is a competitive junior golfer. You must live within 50-miles of Auburn/Opelika, Alabama. 

Q: Is this the Moon Golf Junior Tour OR City Junior Championship for beginners?
A: No. Both the Tour and  The City Junior Championship is for competitive junior golfers that have tournament experience (i.e. PGA Junior League, U.S Kids Local Tour, SJGT, AJGO, AJGA).
 
Q: How do I register my child for a Moon Golf Junior Tour  tournament OR The City Junior Championship?
A: The tournament REGISTER buttons are on the home page.
 
Q: How much is the entry fee for  a Moon Golf Junior Tour tournament (1-day) and the City Junior Championship (2-day)?
A: The Moon Golf Junior Tour (1-day) entry fee is $65 for 18 hole players and $45 for 9 hole players. The City Junior Championship (2 day) entry fee is $95 for 18 hole players and $65 for 9 hole players.
 
Q: What age group will my child be in?
A: Whatever the players birthday as of the tournament date will be the age group they will play in. If they are wanting to play in an older age division, please email our Tournament Director, Peter Meilunas at moongolfjuniortour@gmail.com
 
Q: Will I receive an email confirmation after I register my child for a tournament?
A: YES. 
 
Q: Can my child play a practice round the day before?
A: If the course is a member only course you will not be able to play a practice round unless you are a member. If it is a public course then you may call and make a tee time. Applicable fees and rules apply.
 
Q: If my child is playing in the 8-10 or 11-12 age group, which 9 holes will they be playing at each course?
A: The tours intent is to put the 9 hole groups off of Hole #10 (back 9). However, the golf course has the discretion to change this if needed.
 
Q: When will the tee times/pairings be emailed? 
A: Tee times/pairings will be emailed to you 48 hours before the 1st round.

Q: What time will my child be teeing off ?

A: Tee times will approximately be between 8:00-11:00 AM off both #1 & #10 tee each day.
 
Q: What is the refund policy if my child needs to withdraw?
A: Withdraw BEFORE registration deadline - FULL REFUND
Withdraw AFTER registration deadline - REFUND LESS $25 APPLICATION FEE

 
Q: Are parents allowed to caddy?
A: For the 8-10 age group caddies are MANDATORY
A: For the 11-12  age groups caddies are ALLOWED
A: For the 13-14 & 15-18 age groups caddies are NOT ALLOWED

 

During the Tournament
​Q: Are range balls included in the entry fee?
A: Yes. Range balls are included in the tournament entry fee. The driving range at each course will open before the first tee time.

Q: Can I walk with my child during the tournament?
A: Spectators are welcome to watch but must stay on cart paths and maintain a proper distance. unless you are caddying. ​
 
Q: Can I purchase a spectator cart to watch my child play?
A: Yes. Spectator carts can be purchased for $30 at each course on a first come first serve basis. There will be no refund for spectator carts for bad weather or round being cancelled.

Q: What should I do as a spectator?
A: Support your child silently, follow all spectator guidelines (stay on cart paths, no advice or coaching), and encourage sportsmanship and etiquette.
 
Q: What do I do in case of weather delays?
A: The tournament director will notify families via text or email.

Q: If there is bad weather and the round(s) is not completed what happens?
A: The tournament committee reserves the right to determine any schedule adjustments due to weather, including delays, shortened rounds, or cancellation. Player safety is our top priority, and all updates will be communicated promptly.

Q: Can I purchase snacks and drinks at the course for my child?
A: Yes. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase with credit card at each course. We encourage all spectators to support each course by purchasing snacks and drinks from their snack shop.​

 
Q: Will there be water on the golf course for the players?
A: Yes. Water will provided on both #1 & #10 tee.

After the Tournament
Q: Will there be an awards ceremony after each tournament?
A: Yes. Each age group award ceremony will be held immediately after the last scorecards are signed in that age group. Families are encouraged to attend and celebrate all players.
 
Q: How can I see my child’s scores and leaderboard?
A: All scores and final results can be found on our website.
